The Applied/Pre-Actuary Mathematics concentration prepares a student for a career as an applied mathematician, an actuarial trainee, a data scientist, or in finance. This concentration also prepares a student for graduate programs in areas such as applied mathematics, actuarial science, statistics, finance, or data science.
In addition to the core courses required for all mathematics majors, students in this concentration also take courses in technical writing and through the ECU Stonecipher School of Business in areas such as economics, finance, and management information systems.
