Oklahoma City –

An upcoming forum will provide artists from Ada and southeast Oklahoma resources for getting work through services offered by the Oklahoma Arts Council and the Oklahoma Visual Arts Coalition.

The free forum, centered on the theme “Knowledge is Power,” will be held from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. March 31 [THURSDAY] at the East Central University Arts Incubator at 808 E. Main, Suite C, in Ada.

During the forum Oklahoma Arts Council staff will explain grant guidelines, artist rosters, and other opportunities available through the state agency. A presentation by Oklahoma Visual Arts Coalition Assistant Director, Kelsey Karper will provide insight into services offered by the statewide nonprofit organization. Additional state and national artist resources will be highlighted, and attendees will be able to network, share ideas and discuss challenges associated with their work.

“The Oklahoma Arts Council and the Oklahoma Visual Arts Coalition offer a variety of programs that can benefit artists,” said Molly O’Connor, Oklahoma Arts Council director of outreach and community art programs. “By partnering for this forum we hope to educate and equip area artists, arts leaders and arts administrators to take full advantage of our services.”

The forum is sponsored by the Oklahoma Arts Council in partnership with the Oklahoma Visual Arts Coalition and East Central University.
