French vocal music from the opera house to the coffee house will be the theme of an East Central University faculty concert at 7:30 p.m. Thursday [FEB. 7] at the Ada Arts and Heritage Center. There is no admission charge.

Dr. Melody Baggech, assistant professor of music, will perform French music from the 13th through the 20th centuries with mezzo soprano Dana Ayers; tenors Alan Marshall and Steve Walker; soprano Becky Morrison; Dr. Starla Hibler, piano; Rudy Lupinski, piano and harpsichord; John Michael Miller, cello; Dr. Mark Hollingsworth and Debbie Allen, recorders; Bronson Warren, double bass; and Ben Finley, percussion.

The concert will feature 13th century poet-composers, songs by Debussy, Poulenc and Honegger and opera scenes by Thomas and Lully as well as jazz standards from the 1940s and 1950s.
