East Central University received a No. 15 national ranking for top online education degrees by the website guidetoonlineschools.com, it was recently announced.

The website highlighted 25 top online schools for online education degrees based on affordability and academic strength.

The three ECU programs, highlighted by the website, included online education master’s degrees in library media, secondary education: educational technology and secondary education: sports administration.

To be considered for the top online colleges list, the university must offer at least 10 fully-credited online degrees at the master’s level.

In determining the rankings, tuitions were manually researched and reflect the degree level requirement tuition if offered or the next level tuition cost. Out-of-state tuitions were used unless in-state tuition is offered to all online students.

Academic strength scores were calculated using standardized average SAT and ACT exam scored with respect to the total points possible. Tuition data and academic strength scores were then entered in an internal algorithm to determine value scores and rank order.

There was no other Oklahoma institution of higher learning on this top 25 list.
