The first exchange students to come to East Central University from Ukraine will host "Discover Ukraine" at 3 p.m. Tuesday [April 29] in the Hayes Native American Studies Center, located in the Horace Mann Building.

The 10 students and one professor from the Kiev National University of Linguistics, ECU's sister university, will provide glimpses into the unique Ukrainian culture and discuss the country's geography, history, music and traditions.

The students arrived on April 7 for a month-long stay under ECU's new Study Abroad exchange program. The program established exchange agreements last November with the Ukrainian university and State University of Management in Moscow, Russia. The agreements allow both ECU students and faculty to change places with their counterparts at the sister universities. The Ukrainian students have been attending classes and staying in an ECU residence hall. They will return to Kiev on May 4.
