ADA – Former East Central University student Rhonda Ragsdale will be presenting a lecture entitled “Black Towns and Resistance in the Americas” on Wednesday, April 30, at 10 a.m. in the Estep Multimedia Room inside the Bill S. Cole University Center on the ECU campus.

The lecture, which is being sponsored by the ECU History Department, is free and open to the public.

Ragsdale is an associate professor of history at Lone Star College in Houston, Texas. She is currently a Ph.D. candidate at Rice University.

Her dissertation research is focused on the historically black towns of the United States and her fields include social movements, sociology and southern history.

Ragsdale attended ECU and earned her B.A. at Texas Woman’s University.
