Drug Testing Programs
The East Central University Athletic Department is committed to the education of the negative effects of all street and performance enhancing drug and alcohol use and abuse, as well as enforcing a no tolerance policy through the use of random drug testing.
Every school year the NCAA will randomly select 16 student-athletes to be drug tested. Twelve student-athletes will be selected from the football team along with four student-athletes selected from a randomly chosen second intercollegiate team.
The ECU Athletic Department will periodically conduct its own random drug test of student-athletesThe ECU Athletic Department has a single drug policy with three separate disciplinary policies to accommodate the individual needs of the following groups:
- Student-Athletes, Cheerleaders, and Pom Squad Members
- Student and Graduate Assistant Coaches, Managers, and Athletic Trainers
- Athletic Training Education Program Students

Summer Drug Testing Contact Form
Every year ECU will mail out an Drug Testing Packet to all returning and incoming ECU student-athletes, student-coaches, student athletic trainers, student managers, pom squad members, and cheerleaders. The packet will contain a Drug Testing Information Letter and a NCAA Banned-Drug Classes Document.
