ADA, Okla. – East Central University alumnus, Chris Feiler, is set to be honored at ECU’s Evening of Honors and Recognition, May 10 at 6 p.m., in the ECU Foundation Hall, located inside the Chickasaw Business & Conference Center.

A 1980 graduate of ECU, Feiler was an active member of the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity and received his bachelor’s degree in Education. He will be receiving the ECU Distinguished Service Award.

“It is a privilege to be recognized by East Central University in this capacity,” said Feiler.

He began his career in customer service in 1975 at Black’s Men’s and Ladies’ Wear in Ada, where he worked while attending ECU. Now, with 49 years of customer and community service experience, Feiler’s passion for his community still continues today in his current role as Public Relations Officer of Citizens Bank of Ada.

Feiler’s dedication to serving others goes beyond his role with Citizens Bank of Ada, however.

He has practiced volunteerism for 43 years as a counselor at Goddard Youth Camp, served as a deacon at First Baptist Church, and has spent many years serving on a number of boards of directors, such as United Way, the ECU Alumni Association and the Ada Area Chamber of Commerce, where he continues to serve today.

“Chris is an extremely valuable asset to ECU and the entire Ada community,” said Lacy Grammer, President of the ECU Alumni Association. “He realizes the importance of giving back to the University and his community, and he has dedicated so much time and effort to making ECU and the community a better place. He truly has a servant's heart, and he is such a blessing to the Alumni Association.”

Whether he is grilling hotdogs or welcoming a new business to town, Feiler’s position with Citizens Bank of Ada has allowed him to serve the community hands-on as an ambassador for Citizens Bank while continuing to benefit the City of Ada, ECU and many other causes across the local communities.

“Giving back to my university and the community in which I serve has always been a priority for me,” said Feiler.

Feiler and wife, Loretta, also a graduate of ECU, have been married 23 years and have three children and five grandchildren.
