Student Emergency Assistance Funds
In times of personal, social, or economic hardship, ECU students may face moments of hopelessness. These emergency funds are here to offer support—and hope—when it’s needed most.
Eligibility & Use of Funds
- Students must document their need due to financial crisis or distress.
- A student may receive assistance one time only and from only one fund.
- Awards may be used for:
- ECU tuition, books, fees, housing, and meal plans
- Essential living expenses such as rent, utilities, and vehicle repairs
Application Review
Each application is reviewed on a case-by-case basis to ensure support is provided where it’s most needed.
ECU Food Bank
Thanks to the generosity of anonymous donors, East Central University operates a campus-based food bank in partnership with the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma. This resource provides non-perishable food items to ECU students facing food insecurity.
The food bank serves all enrolled students, including student-parents working hard to support their families while completing their education.
How It Works:
- The food bank uses a box distribution method to ensure fair and consistent access to food.
- Students may submit one application per month during:
- Fall Semester: August–December
- Spring Semester: January–May
- Summer Semester: June–July (if enrolled in summer courses)
