ADA, Okla. – East Central University (ECU) alumna Anna Wood is set to be honored at ECU’s Alumni Gala Dinner and Dance, Oct. 23 at 7 p.m. in the ECU Foundation Hall, located inside the Chickasaw Business and Conference Center.
Wood is a 2018 graduate of ECU, where she earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Legal Studies and Political Science. She would go on to earn a Juris Doctor (J.D.) from the University of Oklahoma College of Law in 2021.
“I am so grateful to have even been nominated, let alone selected to be a 2026 ECU Rising Star,” said Wood. “My time at ECU shaped the person I am today and it is such an honor to be recognized by the University that poured so much into me.”
During her time at ECU, Wood was a member of the Zeta Tau Alpha (ZTA) sorority where she served as Community Service Chair. “I loved planning fun things to do in the community to meet our service hours,” she said.
Speaking on her experience at ECU, Wood also said, “I loved being in the Legal Studies and Political Science Department. My classmates and professors made my time at ECU so much fun.”
She was also selected by committee for the 2018 John J. Ulrich Fellowship, which allowed her to intern for United States Senator James Inhofe during her final semester. “I learned so much and it was such an incredible honor to be selected,” she said.
Wood currently serves as Corporate Counsel for LegalShield. Additionally, she serves on the boards of Ada Regional United Way, Mercy Health Foundation and on the Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Ada Committee. She also previously served on the ECU Alumni Association Board as well as the Ada Arts Council.
