ADA, Okla. - The East Central University (ECU) Rotaract Club is inviting students, faculty and staff to join its efforts in making a positive impact on campus and in the Ada community. The club provides members with opportunities to develop leadership skills, collaborate on service projects, and connect with like-minded peers.
This year, the ECU Rotaract Club partnered with ECU’s Glass Recycling Program and The Oka’ Institute to fund molds and materials for recycled glass pavers, helping transform waste into functional and sustainable products. Members also joined the Ada Sunrise Rotary Club in packing over 1,000 school supply kits for local students through the Back-to-School Basics program.
Additionally, the club participated in the inaugural Ada Farmers Fest, bringing together local organizations, music, food, and environmental action to support the community and sustainability initiatives. On campus, the club has actively assisted culture clubs and student organizations, supporting all groups and fostering inclusivity.
“Our club is about action, connection, and service,” said Adrian Odhiambo, President of the ECU Rotaract Club. “We’re excited to welcome new members who want to contribute to meaningful projects both on and off campus.”
Membership in Rotaract is open to all ECU students, faculty and staff between the ages of 18-30. Those interested in joining can contact Adrian Odhiambo via email at adrodh@email.ecok.edu or call 580-344-4106. People who are interested in joining Rotaract who are older might consider joining Ada Sunrise Rotary or the Ada Rotary Club. For more information about Rotary, please see www.rotary.com.
The next ECU Rotaract Event will be the Rotary Day of Service which will be Saturday, Nov. 8 from 1-3 p.m. The club will be working in the ECU Glass Recycling workshop behind the Education Building.
