ADA, Okla. –Dr. Germain Pichop of East Central University’s Harland C. Stonecipher School of Business has recently been named the new chairman of the board of directors for the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP), a global business education accrediting body and the first organization to offer accreditation to all levels of collegiate business educational degree programs from associate to doctoral.
Pichop earned his Bachelor's Degree in Economics and Management from the University of Yaoundé, Cameroon, his Master's Degree in International Affairs and International Marketing from the International Relations Institute of Cameroon and his Post Graduate Diploma Program from the Emeritus Institute of Management in Collaboration with MIT Executive Education and the Columbia Business School Education. He is also a certified Lean-Six Sigma Green Belt.
In August 2020, Pichop joined ECU as Assistant Professor of Business Administration. He previously worked at Oklahoma City Community College (OCCC) as Professor and Chair of the Business Department and Co-Director of the Center of Excellence in International Business. He also served as a Socio-economic Fellow and Deputy Coordinator of socio-economics research at the WorldVeg (AVRDC). In addition, he has taught at Oklahoma Christian University and the University of Oklahoma over the years.
Pichop has been a consultant for the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and the International Centre for Forestry Research (CIFOR). He is a Past-Chair of the ACBSP Associate Degree Commission, a member of the ACBSP Board of Directors and a former President of the Kappa Beta Delta International Honor Society.
He is a recipient of the Leadership Recognition Award from Oklahoma State University (2000), the NISOD Teaching Excellence Award (2015), and received the ACBSP Region 6 Award for Excellence in Teaching (2018) and the ACBSP International Award for Excellence in Teaching (2018). He is an ENACTUS Sam M. Walton Free Enterprise Fellow.
Pichop teaches Economics, Finance, Marketing, Analytics and Strategies. His areas of interest include digital transformation of business organizations, blockchain technologies applications, data analytics, value chain analysis, quality management and digital business strategies.
