New STEM & School of Nursing Building

The Vision

At East Central University, our vision is to pioneer a transformative approach to nursing education and address the evolving healthcare landscape in southeast Oklahoma. With the creation of a state-of-the-art STEM/Nursing facility, we aspire to revolutionize the learning experience for our students, providing them with a cutting-edge environment that fosters innovation, collaboration, and excellence.

Currently the School of Nursing is housed in the oldest building on campus, Science Hall which was built in 1910. Moving to a larger facility, we aim to increase our nursing graduate output by nearly 400%, meeting the growing demand for skilled healthcare professionals in our region.

Recognizing that 84% of our graduates remain in Oklahoma, we understand the profound impact our institution has on the local workforce. The new facility will not only enable us to expand our capacity but also to adapt our instructional methods to the latest advancements in healthcare and technology. This investment is a strategic response to the urgent need for qualified nursing professionals, ensuring that our graduates are equipped to excel in their careers and contribute significantly to the health sector.

Our vision extends beyond the physical structure; it encompasses a commitment to fostering a dynamic and forward-thinking community of educators, learners, and practitioners. By securing support for this endeavor, we aim to create a legacy of excellence in nursing education, empowering our students to become leaders who drive positive change in healthcare and make a lasting impact on the well-being of our community and beyond.
