Bachelor of Fine Arts – Studio Art Concentration

The Bachelor of Fine Arts with a Studio Art concentration is ECU’s professional undergraduate degree in the visual arts. This program provides students with a broad foundation in image-making across various media, while allowing focused study in one of the traditional studio disciplines such as painting, drawing, sculpture, or ceramics.

Students receive rigorous studio training, with a strong emphasis on professional exhibition, portfolio development, and preparing for graduate school or creative careers. Many ECU Studio Art graduates pursue M.F.A. degrees or build successful careers as professional artists, gallery owners, or educators.

Program Highlights:

  • Preparation for careers as gallery artists, studio sales professionals, artist assistants, or arts educators

  • Graduates have held faculty positions at Texas Tech, Stephen F. Austin University, and other institutions

  • Two ECU alumni have had work accepted into the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York
