POSITION: the Department of Politics, Law, and Society of East Central University invites applications for an Assistant Professor, tenure-track, position in Water Resource Policy and Management and Political Science and beginning August 2025.
Duties include: Teaching online and in person in the Masters of Science Degree in Water Resource Policy and Management (WRPM) as well as topics in Political Science, such as US Government, International Relations, and Political Philosophy. Applicants must be prepared to teach a variety of masters-level classes including Policy Research and Methodology, Water Resource Policy Analysis, Water Resource Economics, Native American Water Rights, and other related classes. The WRPM is a unique interdisciplinary program that integrates water science, policy making, and Native American law and policy. It is hopeful that the successful applicant would become the Director of the WRPM program.
Applicants must have significant knowledge and experience with current educational technologies and online course delivery. The chosen applicant will be expected to be a contributing member of the Politics, Law, and Society Department, assisting with recruitment, club sponsorships, committees, advisement, program assessment, and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications include: Preferred qualifications include a Ph.D. in Political Science, Environmental Science, Environmental Policy or related field. Candidates who are ABD will be considered but must complete the degree by Spring 2026.
