Project Director

East Central University invites applications for the position of Project Director for ECU’s Native American-Serving Nontribal Institutions - Resources to Enhance Achievement and Completion in Higher Education (REACHE) Program. The NASNTI REACHE program is designed to 1) improve Native American (NA) and LI student persistence and graduation through increased access to academic programs and enhanced learning environments; 2) improve NA and LI student outcomes through targeted student services; and 3) increase NA and LI students’ opportunities for high-impact educational experiences. The Project Director, a 5-year, grant-funded position, is primarily responsible for development, implementation and management of the REACHE Program.

 

ECU is a student-centered regional state university located in Ada, Oklahoma. ECU offers thirty-three undergraduate baccalaureate degree programs in arts, business, education, mathematics, sciences, nursing, and the social sciences; and six master's degrees in accounting, education, human resources, psychology, management, and water resources. Additionally, 20-degree programs hold specialty accreditation, and approximately 65% of the 147 full-time faculty hold doctorates. ECU's 3,600 (average) students come from 35 countries and 22 different states. ECU’s mission is to educate and empower students to understand and transform our world.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The REACHE Project Director’s responsibilities include coordinating and overseeing activities to accomplish program goals and objectives, including oversight of a small staff, maintenance of all project records; fiscal management at the program level; working with staff and a Project Leadership Team to oversee the coordination/development of activities/services; advising students as necessary; mentoring to the NA Student Association (NASA); oversight of the REACHE student internship program; oversight and implementation of the evaluation plan; data collection; development of reports; presentations of evaluative findings to stakeholders, and generating plans of action based on evaluation results.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

This position requires a Master’s degree in Human Resources, Education, Educational Leadership, Business Management, or other related field. Five years’ experience in project leadership, management, staff supervision, fiscal management, and federal grant compliance. Prior experience working with NASNTI or Title III, Strengthening Institutions Programs, or similar programs supported by the U.S. Department of Education. Two years of experience working with post-secondary faculty and students from underrepresented populations including their families and communities. Ability to work closely with deans, faculty, and other leaders to set a strategic direction in line with the university’s mission; knowledge of and ability to apply best practices in research; ability to interact with a wide range of staff and students. Ability to make presentations to multiple audiences. Exceptional verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills; and demonstrated problem-solving skills.

 

SALARY: $58,000 - $61,000
