Veterans Upward Bound (VUB) Program Coordinator

The Veterans Upward Bound program is designed to:

1) Be a Veteran Outreach program in Education.

2) Provide Admission, financial literacy, and academic help along with an individualized education plan for success.

3) Follow up and track academic progress alongside The Department of Education.

The Veterans Upward Bound (VUB)  Program Coordinator, a 3-year, grant-funded position, is primarily responsible for assisting the VUB program director with administration and coordination of VUB activities at the host institution, and throughout the target area, in addition to conducting academic counseling duties.

ECU is a student-centered regional state university located in Ada, Oklahoma. ECU offers thirty-three undergraduate baccalaureate degree programs in arts, business, education, mathematics, sciences, nursing, and the social sciences; and six master's degrees in accounting, education, human resources, psychology, management, and water resources. Additionally, 20 degree programs hold specialty accreditation, and approximately 65% of the 147 full-time faculty hold doctorates. ECU's 3,600 (average) students come from 35 countries and 22 different states. ECU’s mission is to educate and empower students to understand and transform our world.

Requirements:

This full-time position is a Bachelor’s degree required in Education, Counseling, Social Work, Human Resources or a closely related field.

Minimum of 2 years of experience in an administrative position, to include budgets, and supervising personnel; minimum of 2 years of experience working with adults, disadvantaged individuals and/or veterans, and experience in counseling, advising, and case managing students is preferred.

Computer skills, multitasking skills, good oral and written communication skills, as well as presentation skills are required.

TRIO and Military experience emphasized.

 

SALARY RANGE: $38,000 - $40,000
