Job Title:    Coordinator of the Wellness Center

NARRATIVE DESCRIPTION:

 

The Wellness Center Coordinator assists in management and supervision of all aspects of the Wellness Center including daily operations, facility maintenance, program supervision, personnel training and supervision, purchasing, equipment maintenance, scheduling, coordination of facility usage and quality control.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Administrative:

 

Assist the director in developing, implementing and monitoring a business/marketing plan to increase enrollment, program participation, and patron retention.

 

Assist the director with planning budget and fiscal management of all income and expenses.

 

Maintain records, facility reports, payroll and administrative documentation.

 

Attend meetings with director or in director’s absence.

 

Attend special functions and community events for community outreach to prospective patrons.

 

Repair and maintenance of equipment and facilities and ensure all safety standards are met.

 

Assist in evaluating policies and procedures for effectiveness.

 

Enforce policies and ensure staff are consistently enforcing policies.

 

Perform other Wellness Center duties as assigned.

 

Program Development and Patron Services:

 

Assist with developing and implementing quality programming and services that help meet goals, plans, budgets and increase profits. 

 

Provide excellent customer service, build rapport and be a source of positive encouragement to all patrons.

 

Satisfactorily resolve complaints from patrons while maintaining Wellness Center goals and objectives.

 

Staffing and Supervision:

 

Recruit specialized staff; assist the Director in interviewing, selection and training as needed.

 

Assist with staff supervision (part time, contract and student workers), internship program and service-learning.

 

Schedule and ensure all hours of operation are covered including weekend, early morning and evening shifts in all areas of the Wellness Center.

 

Plan, develop and conduct regular staff meetings of shift, in-service trainings and staff development trainings.

 

Assist with monitoring, evaluating, motivating and counseling staff.

 

Coordinate all special training for staff including customer service, conflict training, first aid/CPR certifications, and other as needed.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Bachelor's degree, current certifications in CPR and First Aid. Must be able to work independently, handle confrontational situations, excellent communication skills, and possess strong attention to detail.

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

 

Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology, Exercise Physiology/Science, Physical/Health preferred.

 

Minor in Education or equivalent; Minor in Business is preferred but not required.

 

Current certification in CPR/First Aid. National personal training certification a plus. Lifeguard Certification a plus.

SALARY: $25,000 - $26,000
