Dr. Robert Bailey from the University of Oklahoma will lecture about his new book titled Conceptual Art after Modernism: Reconceiving Art and Art History. It examines the role that conceptual thinking played for artists and art historians engaged in intellectual dialogues about their practices from 1950 to the present. Dr. Bailey is interested in how talking across the divide between their practices enabled artists and art historians to learn from one another and introduce more scholarly rigor or creative activity into their work. Dr. Bailey also recently completed a new video/text project that he will bring as a pop-up installation for the day of the talk.
