Parker Ethics Lecture

Foundation Hall of the Chickasaw Business and Conference Center 

Elaine Dodd will be the speaker for the Parker Ethics Lecture on Thursday, April 23 at 2:00 in the Foundation Hall of the Chickasaw Business and Conference Center. She will be speaking on Fraud Protection for Individuals and will address frauds related to such things as identity theft, social media protection, internet scams and phone scams. She is the Vice President, Fraud Division of the Oklahoma Bankers Association and has been recognized in Oklahoma and nationally for her efforts in fraud prevention. She has a reputation as a very entertaining and knowledgeable speaker.

Another activity associated with the lecture will be the Parker Ethics Luncheon where Elaine Dodd will be speaking on “Protecting your Business and your Professional Life from Fraud.” This presentation will also be in the Foundation Hall and the buffet will open at 11:45. The program will begin at 12:10 and will end by 1:00. The Ada Business and Professional Community is invited to this event and those wishing to attend should RSVP with Julie Bradam at 580-559-5274 or jbradam@ecok.edu. There is no charge for this event, but seating will be limited to the first 100 to RSVP.


Elaine Dodd spent 22 years in law enforcement doing investigative work for the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics, retiring in 1995 as their Director. She was a featured speaker for the DEA and the pharmaceutical industry in conferences across the U.S. Now VP, Fraud Division, Oklahoma Bankers Association, Elaine provides training and investigative assistance for banks and fraud training to thousands of bankers and customers. OBA has helped bank customers and retailers learn how to protect their businesses, savings, and retirements from scammers and their schemes.  Elaine received the OBA Chairman’s Award in 2005 and was a Journal Record Woman of the Year finalist in 2005.  In 2013, she was the recipient of the State Attorney General’s Brad Edwards Consumer Champion award and was inducted into the Oklahoma Women’s Hall of Fame.  Dodd also is the recipient of the 2014 FBI Director’s Community Leadership Award.

She serves on the board of the OK IAFCI, as a sector chief for Infragard (FBI security group), is a charter member of the Coalition Against Financial Exploitation of the Elderly (CAFEE), is an active member of MAFIA (Metro Area Fraud Investigators Association), served on the board of OK Watch  (investigative journalism collaboration making a difference in the lives of Oklahomans), and is an active member of the IT Advisory Committee, OSU Tech Institute.  She holds a bachelor’s degree in political science (criminal justice) from the University of Oklahoma.

CHARITY KICKBALL TOURNAMENT/COOKOUT

Hosted by students of the BUS 4983 service learning class. 

Cost: $3 to play, $5 to play plus a meal (includes: hamburger or hotdog, chips, and a water), $3 for meal only

Location: Practice Football Field behind the Baseball Locker Room

Date/Time: Event begins at 6:00 pm on Wednesday, April 22

Prize: Winners will receive an ECU t-shirt

No registration needed. 7 people per team. May form teams before tournament, or form a team on day of event.
