Paleontologist Paul Sereno Speaking

Native Explorers presents Paul Sereno. The world-renowned paleontologist and former National Geographic explorer-in-residence (not to mention discoverer of dinosaurs on five continents) will be speaking at the ECU Foundation Hall inside the Chickasaw Business and Conference Center. Admission is free and open to the public.

Cody Johnson Memorial Car Show

The FIVE80Riders Cody Johnson Memorial Car, Truck and Motorcycle Show will be at the Centennial Plaza outside the ECU Hallie Brown Ford Fine Arts Center.

The car show is to promote and raise money for the Cody Johnson "Five80Riders" Memorial Scholarship. Cody was killed November 14, 2012 in a tragic motorcycle accident. The scholarship is presented to a Pontotoc County high school athlete attending ECU as a freshman. The $1,000 scholarship is endowed through the ECU Foundation. The money raised enables the scholarship to be expanded to a male and female student each year. For more information, call Andrew at 580-235-6742, Katie at 580-759-9965 or Judd 580-235-7857.

Registration is 8-10 a.m., Judging begins at noon, awards at 2 p.m. Three car classes, three truck classes and 2 motorcycle classes with a bike dyno. $20 entry fee and door prizes.

Daniel Minnich Memorial Golf Tournament

The Ninth Annual Daniel Keith Minnich Memorial Scholarship Golf Tournament will be at the Jimmie Austin Golf Course in Seminole, Oklahoma.

The 4 Man Scramble has a $75 entry fee per person. 1 p.m. Shotgun start. Lunch provied at noon.

Cash Prizes for first, second and third places along with door prizes, prize for long drive and closest to pin.
