DEPARTMENT OF KINESIOLOGY
ECU students seeking employment in health clubs, recreational facilities, hospital-based wellness programs, cardiac rehabilitation programs, and sports medicine clinics may find a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology beneficial. Students study human movement, giving students the means to educate the total person for living in an enlightened society. The Department of Kinesiology coursework includes a core of courses in the broad field of Kinesiology and additional specialty courses in Exercise Science, concentrating on knowledge and skills necessary for appropriate exercise testing, prescription, and leadership. Many Exercise Science majors are prepared for working with special populations such as senior citizens or prepared to be a physical trainer. We also offer a minor in Kinesiology.
In order to meet the career needs of our students, the Department of Kinesiology not only offers a wide variety of courses, but we offer those courses in a variety of formats to meet the needs of students. All Kinesiology courses are taught once a year in a traditional face-to-face or offered 100% online.
