Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology
Offered online or in person at East Central University
The Kinesiology program prepares students for careers in the fitness/wellness profession, as well as research-oriented careers. Every year Kinesiology graduates are accepted to graduate school where they continue their education to become athletic trainers, occupational therapists, physical therapists, physicians’ assistants and numerous other professions. The coursework for this degree includes a core of courses in the broad field of Kinesiology and additional specialty courses in Exercise Science concentrating on knowledge and skills necessary for appropriate exercise testing, prescription and leadership.
Master in Sports Administration
This program offers a 30-hour plan of study designed to provide the financial, legal, promotional and organizational knowledge necessary to manage sports programs and/or athletic facilities. This fully online program is structured to fit most schedules. Degree plans are available for students who plan to graduate in one or two years. While the program is a Master of Education, the students do not need to have a degree in Education, nor do they need a teaching certificate to be admitted to the program. Graduates are currently employed in all levels of athletics and sports-related fields. The program is designed to improve the student’s current employment as well as help students gain employment in desired fields through internships and directed learning.
