Next Steps for Freshmen

 

1. Watch for Your Welcome Email

• Within 2–3 days of being admitted, you'll receive an email titled "Welcome to ECU! Some Next Steps!" at the email address you used on your admission application.
• This email will include instructions for accessing your ECU student account.
  
  

2.  Set Up Your ECU Account

• Obtain your Student ID number.
• Set up your ECU email account and password.
  
  

3.  Complete the FAFSA

• Submit your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) as soon as possible to maximize financial aid opportunities.
  
  

4.  Attend Admitted Student Day

• You'll receive an email invitation with registration information.
  
  

5.  Enroll in Classes

• Registration instructions will be emailed to you when course enrollment opens.
  
  

6.  Apply for Housing and Choose a Meal Plan (if applicable)

• Complete your housing application and select a meal plan if you plan to live on campus.
• Check out the housing webpage.
  
  

7.   Apply for ECU Foundation Scholarships

• Submit your scholarship application before the priority deadline to be considered for available awards.

8.  Sign Up for Orientation

• Registration information will be emailed to you as the start of the semester approaches.

9. Submit Your Final High School Transcript

• Ask your high school to send an official transcript showing your graduation date.
  
  

10. Check Your ECU Email Regularly

• Continue monitoring your ECU email for important updates, deadlines, and next steps before classes begin.
