ECU Homecoming Student Activities
Homecoming is for the entire Tiger community, and ECU students will have plenty of ways to get involved throughout Homecoming week.
Student organizations, campus groups, and departments will celebrate Spirit of Roary: A Haunting in Tiger Town with activities, competitions, traditions, and opportunities to show their Tiger pride.
Student Homecoming Schedule
Homecoming Royalty - Nominations close October 2, 2026, at 5:00 PM.
It’s time to celebrate students who make East Central University special! Homecoming Royalty nominations are officially open.
Student Eligibility:
Must be a junior or senior student (by credit hours, undergraduate).
Must have a 2.0+ cumulative GPA.
Must be in good behavioral and academic standing with the university.
Must represent at least one student group.
Homecoming Banner Competition - Open Now!
The Homecoming Banner competition is open to student organizations and residence hall staff. Completed banners are due to the Office of Campus Involvement on October 16, 2026, at 12:00 pm. Kick off Homecoming week with a trip to Spooky Island with the Housing and Residence Life team! Dress cozy, grab your friends, and join us in Ataloa Theatre for a viewing of the classic mystery-solving Scooby - Doo (2002) movie. Don't worry about Scooby Snacks; we've got you covered! Please bring your ECU Student ID - there may be some surprise giveaways waiting to be claimed...

October 20, 2026: The Great Game Begins
Oh No! Roary the Tiger is missing! Do you have what it takes to find our beloved mascot? Assemble your team of detectives to solve virtual puzzles across campus to find Roary. Along the way, you will learn more about the ECU campus. You have 48 hours to find Roary in time for the Homecoming Weekend! The Great Game is available to play for all ECU students, faculty, and staff. There will be prizes up for grabs for a couple of teams.
Starting location: Tiger Fountain
Time:10/20 @8:00AM - 10/22 @8:00AM

- Form a team of 1-8 players.
- Have at least 1 player on your team download The Great Game App. Not every player needs to download the app, but if you can, we encourage you to. Scan the QR code to the left, or you can search "TheGreatGame" in the app store.
- Sign up with an email address, click "Register for a game," and then click on East Central University.
- Have one team member click "Create Team" and choose a team name and password. Other teammates click "Join Team" and log in.
- Once everyone has joined your team, go to the start location and begin your adventure!
October 20, 2026: B-Y-O Treat Bag
Don't forget your sweet treat for your Tuesday! Stop by the University Center from 11:00AM - 2:00PM to build your own treat bag courtesy of Aramark.

October 22, 2026: Build - A - Roary
Every ECU Tiger deserves a Roary of their own! Come out to the UC Lawn to Build - A - Roary with your friends and grab an ECU Homecoming T-shirt for your Roary. There are only 200 Roarys available - do not miss out! ECU Student ID is required for participation.
Location: UC Lawn (UC Foyer in case of weather)

October 23, 2026: Roary's Haunted Bingo Night
A campus favorite event is back for Homecoming Week! Are you feeling lucky? Grab your crew, dress in your best Halloween costume, and head to Ataloa Theatre for a chance to win some awesome prizes - but be aware of some spooky twists that may come your way. There will be prizes to win, and prizes given out for the best Halloween costumes. We have 200 spots available, so do not be late! Must have your ECU Student ID to participate.

Homecoming Parade
Student organizations are encouraged to participate in the ECU Homecoming Parade on Saturday, October 24 at 11:00 a.m.
Homecoming Trunk-or-Treat
Student organizations and campus groups are also invited to participate in the Homecoming Trunk-or-Treat following the parade.
Groups may decorate a trunk, hand out candy or treats, and help create a fun Homecoming experience for families and the ECU community.
