In addition to the cultural, creative, reading and writing courses of an English major, English Teacher Certification majors take courses in methods of teaching English to attain state certification qualifying them to teach English at the middle and high school levels. Since 2010, we have had a 100% placement rate for all English Education graduates and a 100% pass rate on certification tests since 2006. Recently, state statistics show five teacher openings for every one graduate.
