A program of music and poetry from 19th century Russia will be presented at 7:30 p.m. Thursday [NOV. 13] at the Ada Arts and Heritage Center. The program is free and open to the public.

"In Search of Firebird" will feature soprano Dr. Melody Baggech, assistant professor of music at East Central University; pianist Dr. Stuart Deaver, a former adjunct faculty member at ECU; and members of ECU's Russian Club.

In addition, an iceberg cake baked by Dr. Mara Sukholutskaya, ECU associate professor of English and languages, will be offered in a silent auction. Funds from the sale will help students go on a Study Abroad trip to Russia next May.

The initial bid for the cake has been set at $65. Bids will be accepted before the event by telephone or email as well as at the program. The winner will be announced during the intermission.

For more information or to submit a bid, contact Sukholutskaya at 580-559-5293 ormsukholu@ecok.edu.
