FIVE INDIVIDUALS EARN ADVANCED LEADER AWARDS
These five individuals captured Advanced Leader Individual Awards at East Central University’s Oklahoma Business Week, held June 5-9. The five-day camp enables high school students to form a “company” to learn about business practices and compete in simulated business challenges. Each “company” is guided by a volunteer mentor from the Oklahoma corporate community. All of OBW’s programs are designed to engage teens in hands-on, experiential learning. The champions achieved $1,000 scholarships and various other prizes, while the runners-up received $500 scholarships and other prizes. AT&T and OG&E were among the sponsors for the event.
SIX OBW PARTICIPANTS NAB $1,000 SCHOLARSHIPS, LAPTOPS
These six participants in East Central University’s 2016 Oklahoma Business Week each earned a $1,000 scholarship to ECU, laptop computer and other prizes during the five-day camp held June 5-9. During the annual camp, high school students form a “company” to learn about business practices and compete in simulated business challenges. Each “company” is guided by a volunteer mentor from the Oklahoma corporate community. All of OBW’s programs are designed to engage teens in hands-on, experiential learning. These six were part of the Gold Team (Good and Gold) which claimed the overall championship and took first place in three categories - BizSim, Stockholder’s Presentation and Marketing Challenge.
