East Central University’s Evening of Honors and Recognition will recognize distinguished persons May 5 in the Chickasaw Business and Conference Center. Registration begins at 5:30 p.m. with the event starting at 6 p.m.

ECU will honor the 2023 Distinguished Alumni, Distinguished Former Faculty, Distinguished Service, and Distinguished Family.

The 2023 Distinguished Alumni to be honored are Tom Darter (1973), Paula Kedy (1976), Randy Nail (1984), and Steve Williamson (1982).

The 2023 Distinguished Family is the W.B. Buster and Leona Bea Barrick Family. Eighteen family members spanning four generations either attended or graduated from ECU.

Dr. Rahmona Thompson will be recognized as Distinguished Former Faculty. Her long career teaching various biology courses at ECU began in 1991 until she retired in 2017.

Vicky Petete (2011) is recognized with the Distinguished Service Award for her close work and service with ECU.

Sponsorships are available at various levels for the event.

A Gold Sponsorship for $3,000 includes tickets and prime seating for 16 attendees, event signage, special event recognition and drink tickets.

A Silver Sponsorship for $1,500 consists of ticket seating for eight attendees, recognition in the program, acknowledge in press releases and drink tickets.

A Bronze Sponsorship for $250 includes tickets and seating for two, recognition in the program drink tickets.

Individual tickets are also available at $75 each. Advance tickets are recommended.
