The ECU performance, which is the company's only stop in Oklahoma during the 2010-11 theatre season, will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the Ataloa Theatre in the Hallie Brown Ford Fine Arts Center.

The theatre company, based in New York, is dedicated to the reinterpretation of classical drama and has a reputation of presenting fresh and inventive productions, using both British and American performers.

"With precision, sensitivity and unity of ensemble, the Aquila Theatre Company articulates the human essence inherent in classical drama," said Peter Meineck, artistic director and founder of the company. "Combining the techniques of British and American theatre and following a philosophy of theatrical utilitarianism, Aquila believes that the greatest works should be seen by the greatest number."

Founded in London in 1991 and based in New York since 1999, Aquila presents a regular season of plays in New York, at international festivals and tours to approximately 70 American towns and cities a year.

The actors also will present a master class for ECU and high school theatre students Tuesday morning and will host a limited-seating pre-performance discussion at 6:30 p.m. in the Chalmers Herman Theatre in the fine arts center.

Reservations are recommended. Tickets are $18 for adults and $15 for ECU students, faculty and staff. Tickets may be purchased in advance by credit card at the ECU Bursar's Office or by calling 580-559-5216 or at the ticket booth the night of the performance.
