ADA, Okla. – East Central University student Carson Dill has been selected for the 2025 Brad Henry International Scholar Program.
The scholarship provides Oklahoma Regional University students a chance to travel and study abroad at Swansea University in Wales, United Kingdom for one semester.
His first time traveling abroad, Dill has put a lot of thought into making the most of the experience, “If I have the opportunity, I would love to see The Shard in London, and the London Eye.”
Dill continued, “If I end up going to France, I would love to visit the Louvre and the Eiffel Tower. Even just the places in between, the places I don’t necessarily know the name of right now. The smaller towns like Swansea and the neighboring areas.”
A native of Ardmore, Okla., Dill is currently a junior at ECU studying instrumental music.
“I’m taking a class on adaptation, like books to movies and other adaptations,” said Dill when discussing his course schedule for his semester abroad. “I’m also taking a class on the news media in pop culture. The course description said, ‘From newspapers to Twitter.’ This is something I’ve been interested in so I thought it was a perfect fit.”
Dill will receive academic credit for his semester studying abroad. His travels begin on Jan. 22 with classes starting Jan. 27 and concluding in June.
The students selected for the Brad Henry Scholarship, valued at approximately $12,000, must have completed a minimum of 30 credit hours and have excellent academic qualifications, outstanding writing and communication skills, exemplary character, and have demonstrated leadership qualities, maturity and judgement.
