ADA – East Central University officially retired fallen teammate Chris Lane’s No. 7 baseball jersey at ECU’s Tiger Field on Wednesday, March 05, 2014. The ceremony was followed by a baseball scrimmage between ECU and Redlands Community College, where Lane played prior to coming to ECU. Lane was represented by his father, Peter Lane, who traveled from Australia for the ceremony and by his girlfriend, Sarah Harper. Pictured left to right are: ECU Director of Athletics Dr. Jeff Williams, Sarah Harper, Peter Lane, ECU head baseball coach Dino Rosato and ECU Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Duane Anderson. Redlands also retired Chris Lane’s No. 2 jersey during the tribute.
