East Central University President Dr. Katricia G. Pierson (right) honored retiring faculty member Dr. Doug Weirick for his years of service to ECU during an Evening of Employee Recognition held recently in ECU Foundation Hall of the Chickasaw Business and Conference Center. Weirick has served as professor and chair of ECU’s Environmental Health Science Department. He received his Ph.D. in civil engineering and environmental science at the University of Oklahoma in 1993, master’s degree in biology (systematics and ecology) from the University of Kansas in 1987 and bachelor’s degree in biology (cellular biology) from the University of Kansas in 1980.
