East Central University (ECU) continues to champion college access and affordability by expanding its scholarship program beginning Summer and Fall 2025 semesters. This expansion builds upon the successful pilot launched in Fall 2024, where ECU provided scholarships to Oklahoma beginning freshmen.

Recognizing the growing need for continued educational support, ECU will now offer scholarships to all undergraduate, degree-seeking Oklahoma students enrolling for the first time or returning to ECU after an absence of at least one full academic year. Scholarship award amounts will be communicated by email to eligible students within a week of acceptance to ECU.

"Our expanded scholarship initiative is designed to support a broader range of Oklahoma students, removing barriers to education and encouraging degree completion," said ECU President Wendell Godwin. "This effort aligns directly with our longstanding commitment to affordability and educational opportunity."

ECU firmly believes in the transformative power of higher education, recognizing that college degrees significantly enhance future earnings potential and overall quality of life for Oklahoma residents. Notably, 85% of ECU graduates are employed in Oklahoma five years after graduation.
