East Central University to Honor Distinguished Alumnus Kitt Wakeley at Annual Evening of Honors and Recognition
ADA, Oklahoma – East Central University (ECU) is proud to announce that distinguished alumnus Kitt Wakeley will be honored at the university's Evening of Honors and Recognition event on Thursday, May 16, at 6 p.m. The ceremony will take place in the ECU Foundation Hall, located inside the Chickasaw Business & Conference Center.
Wakeley, a 1993 graduate of East Central University, is an acclaimed musician and producer, recognized with two Grammy Awards, four Grammy nominations, and seven number-one Billboard charting positions.
"I'm humbled and honored to be recognized by my alma mater as one of this year's Distinguished Alumni," Wakeley said. "From a very young age, East Central University was a tremendous resource, providing numerous opportunities and programs for me to flourish as a youth. It only made sense for me to continue that journey as a college student. Today, I'm blessed with a foundation that fostered my success in music, as a husband and as a father. I will be forever grateful."
The ECU Evening of Honors and Recognition celebrates the achievements of outstanding alumni and community leaders who have made significant contributions in their fields and communities.
