The East Central University Athletic Department will host “ECU Haunted Hoops” Tuesday, Oct. 27, at the Kerr Activities Center, immediately following the conclusion of the Tigers’ volleyball match against Langston that starts at 7 p.m.

Admission to the volleyball match and “ECU Haunted Hoops” is free.

Put on as a joint effort between the Tigers men’s and women’s basketball teams, the event will feature contests, prizes, free treats courtesy of Landmark Bank, introductions of the 2015-16 ECU basketball teams and an autograph session with players.

“The East Central and Ada communities have been a tremendous part of our success,” said ECU men’s head basketball Ja Havens.  “This is an opportunity to give back and say ‘thank you’ with a fun event to kick off the season.”

Fans will be eligible to compete in a “best costume” contest as well as a basketball skills contest, with a chance to win a free meal for two courtesy of Santa Fe Cattle Company.  Contestants can enter the contests by tweeting #ECUHauntedHoops to @ECUTigers.

Players and coaches will be on hand to meet and greet fans afterward, with fans treated to a free team poster, autographs and Halloween candy from the players.

“This is something we would like to start as a yearly tradition,” ECU women’s basketball coach Matt Cole added. “The community support is one reason why Ada has been a wonderful place to live, raise a family and build a successful basketball program. We look forward to kicking off the season in front of our supporters.”
