ADA, Okla. – East Central University is seeking nominations for new awards to be presented at the annual ECU Alumni Gala Dinner and Dance set for Friday, Oct. at 6:30 p.m. in the ECU Foundation Hall inside the Chickasaw Business & Conference Center.
Each year, the Gala honors and recognizes the ECU Black Alumni Association Scholarship winners and the Milam Award winners. This year, two new awards have been added to honor alumni on the rise.
Rising ECU Tiger Distinguished Alumni Award
This award will be award during homecoming weekend and will recognize our most inspiring alumni who have reached significant achievements in the professional career, voluntary service or civic involvement
- Earned an undergraduate or graduate degree from East Central University
- Is under 40 as of January 1, 2025
- Has made an impact in their professional and philanthropic endeavors
Nominations are due Sept. 1, 2024.
The Rising ECU Tiger Award
This award is presented to a recent graduate of East Central University (within one to five years after graduating). This person must have demonstrated significant professional or personal achievements.
- The candidate must have completed either their undergraduate or graduate at ECU
- The candidate must have:
- Accomplished significant professional achievements;
- Made significant contributions as a volunteer; or
- Demonstrated promise of significant future accomplishments as an ECU Alum
