Two classes of sports and games for children in the gym and the swimming pool will begin next week [JAN. 12 AND JAN. 13] at East Central University.
The Gym/Swim Class for ages 5-12 begins Monday [Jan. 12] and will offer physical activities in the McBride Gymnasium during the first half and finish with a variety of aquatic sports and games in the McBride swimming pool.
The class will be held from 5:30 to 6:20 p.m. on Mondays through March 9. The cost is $50.
Youngsters from 6 to 12 can enjoy a variety of aquatic activities that will challenge and improve their overall fitness in an Aqua Fit & Fun class beginning Tuesday [JAN. 13].
Water polo, dodgeball, basketball and baseball are among the activities that will be played in the McBride swimming pool during the class which will be held from 6 to 6:50 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays through Feb. 5. The cost is $50.
The instructor for both classes is Shanda Murdoch, a certified lifeguard who has several years' experience in teaching, coaching and refereeing youth athletics.
