ADA, Okla. – East Central University Percussion Ensemble students travelled to Indianapolis, Ind. this month to compete in the Percussive Arts Society International Conference (PASIC).
10 ECU students attended the competition with Dr. Nick Meyers, Director of Bands at ECU. The competition featured 20 premier ensembles in the University Division. ECU scored an 81 placing them 15th while the winning score was a 94.
“This was an excellent opportunity for our students to experience an elite competition against a wide range of universities,” stated Meyers. “Being able to rank in a field this competitive is a sign that our students are of the highest level.”
PASIC is recognized as one of the largest drum and percussion events in the world, featuring concerts, clinics, panels and presentations given by the finest artists.
