East Central University’s Russian Studies Program and Music Department will present “From the Land of the Firebird,” an evening of Russian poetry and song, at 7:30 p.m. March 27 [TUESDAY] in the Regents Room in Knight Hall. Admission is free.

A silent auction will offer donated Russian items and the Russian Club will sell Russian chocolates to raise money for the Study Abroad Program.

Performers will include ECU students and faculty. Musicians are faculty members Rudy Lupinski and Melody Baggech and students Sheena Stallings, Aaron Steinman and Jacob Stevens.

Stevens also will recite “Winter Night” by Boris Pasternak. Others reciting poetry will be Alexis Brendle, “Flower” by Alexander Pushkin; Taylor Weir, “Night, Street, Streetlight...” by Alexander Bloch; Rayel Schinnerer, “Girl was Singing in the Church Choir” by Alexander Bloch; James Cluck, “Wait for me” by  Konstantin Simonov; and Rodney Weaverling, “Blue Color” by Nikoloz Baratashvili.
