The East Central University Theatre Department will present Michael Frayn’s theatrical farce Noises Off, Thursday-Saturday, April 12-14, at 7:30 p.m. each night in the Ataloa Theatre of the Hallie Brown Ford Fine Arts Center.

The production, being directed by ECU alumnus and graduate student Jamie Davis, starts with an onstage rehearsal of a play called “Nothing On.” The second act takes the audience members backstage one month later in the tour as tensions between cast members rise. Then in the third act, the audience is taken to a performance at the end of the long tour as mayhem explodes on stage.

The play opened on Broadway in 1984 and made revivals in 2002 and 2015, winning Outer Critic Circle Awards for the two revival directors, a Drama Desk Award for direction and a Tony and Outer Critic Circle Award for featured actress Katie Finneran.

Echard, ECU alumnus, as Garry Lejeune/Roger; Kaleb Gordon, ECU alumnus, as Lloyd Dallas/Burglar No. 3; Dr. Richard Groetzinger, ECU faculty, as Selsdon Mowbray/Burglar; Jace Westmoland, ECU student from Ada and Byng High School graduate, as Timothy Allgood/Burglar 2 Vickie Reifsnider, ECU faculty, as Dotty Otley/Mrs. Clackett; Isabella Roan, ECU student from Garland, Texas, as Poppy Norton-Taylor; Shelby Stinson, ECU student from Poteau, as Brooke Ashton/Vicki and Leah Whiten, ECU student from Davis, as Belinda Blair/Flavia Brent.

Tickets range from $5 for children to $10 for adults. ECU students and employees are free with ECU identification. The cost breakdown is $10 for adults and $9 for senior citizens and non-ECU students. ECU alumni receive a $1 discount. Those in grades 7-12 can get in for $7 and those children 12 and under can get in for $5.

The Box Office at the Hallie Brown Ford Fine Arts Center is open Monday-Friday from 2 p.m.-4 p.m. and one hour before the start of the show. Tickets may be purchased by phone at 580-559-5751 or online at ecok.edu/FineArts. Tickets may also be picked up at the will call window the night of the show.
