Sarita KC, a master’s student in East Central University’s Water Resource Policy and Management degree program, has been awarded a scholarship from the Oklahoma State Environmental Health Professionals, it was recently announced.
“Not only did she (KC) meet the qualifications, but her movement into the public health field and desire to serve humanity resulted in her being chosen as this year’s scholarship recipient,” written in a statement from the OSEHP committee.
KC, an Ada resident, says the 2017 OSEHP scholarship will help her complete her water resources and policy management master’s degree from ECU as well as try to help bridge the gap between environmental and economic concerns.
“As I travel around the state, nation and countries, I see that many of us lack awareness and education on environmental protection and management, especially water,” said KC. “I am confident that this degree will help build a bridge between public and leaders, thus making us all work together in ensuring water resources protection and management for the betterment of society.”
The OSEHP is a state organization, affiliated by the National Environmental Health Association.
