A fifth “nobody” has been added to the lineup when the Nobodies of Comedy perform Thursday [JAN. 26] at East Central University.

Andrew Schulz will join Erick James, Tim Krompier, Mark Viera, James Johann and Andrew Schulz for the show that begins at 7:30 p.m. in the Ataloa Theatre in the Hallie Brown Ford Fine Arts Center.

The Nobodies of Comedy, part of ECU’s fine arts season, is a touring showcase of young comedians, all rising stars who are well known in regions across the country. Their raw, edgy comedy is intended for mature audiences.

Schulz is a comedian, writer and actor who has collaborated on several TV pilots, written and performed in the web series “Rise of the Radio Show” and acted in a short film. He was on MTV’s New Year’s Eve Bash and is a regular on Music Choice’s TV show “Certified.”

He takes up unlikely and taboo subjects, pushing back against so-called progressive, enlightened logic. He discusses gender issues and identity politics with what he calls “logical masculinism,” a brand of comedy that takes up the male experience from an informed and rational perspective.

Erick James approaches comedy from both an analytical and childlike point of view, while Tim Krompier has an autobiographical style of comedy. Mark Viera’s performances reflect his lighthearted, fun-loving approach to entertaining and James Johann gets laughs based on his small town upbringing.

Tickets are $18 for the public. Also, 150 student tickets are available for $5.75 on a first-come, first-serve basis. Tickets may be purchased online at tickets.ecok.edu or reserved by calling the theatre’s box office at 580-559-5751 or emailing boxoffice@ecok.edu. All regular tickets, including those for season ticket holders, should be picked up at the will call window the night of the show. Any remaining tickets will be sold at the door.
