Four East Central University faculty members were recognized with Teaching Excellence Awards at “An Evening of Employee Recognition” on April 26 in the ECU Foundation Hall of the Chickasaw Business and Conference Center. Pictured from left to right are: Dr. Phyllis Isaacs, department chair and associate professor of education; Dr. Kenneth Hada, professor of English and languages; Dr. Stacey Bolin, assistant professor and director of the Wilburn L. Smith Center for Entrepreneurship and Dr. Mary Harper, assistant professor of mathematics. Applicants for the Teaching Excellence Awards are nominated by a student, faculty or alumni. The applicant then submits a portfolio, containing the requisite information. The Teaching Excellence Committee members evaluate each portfolio on its individual merit using a ranking system. The recipients are then determined by the highest cumulative rankings.
