A hamburger fry from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, April 22 will benefit the Dean Peterson Scholarship fund at East Central University. The scholarship benefits students in ECU’s Legal Studies Program. Peterson (left) was director of the program until she retired in 2007 and was succeeded by Dr. Jenna Owens (right). Burgers, chips and a drink can be purchased for $5 on the lawn east of the Horace Mann Building. Hosts are the Department of Political Science and Legal Studies, the Legal Professions Association and Pi Sigma Alpha. The unique Legal Studies program trains students to be paralegals in law offices. To donate to the scholarship fund, contact Owens at 559-5603 or the ECU Foundation Inc. at 559-5514.
