The East Central University Flute, Clarinet and Brass Ensembles will perform on the Instrumental Ensembles Concert at 7:30 p.m. Thursday [OCT. 28] in the Hallie Brown Ford Fine Arts Center's Ataloa Theatre. The concert is free and open to the public.
The Flute Ensemble, directed by Juliana Overmier, will perform using many members of the flute family, including the soprano, alto and bass flutes.
"The addition of the larger flutes to the choir expands the range and depth of the music, while still maintaining the beautiful blended timbres that only flutes can create," Overmier said.
The repertoire for the program is J.S. Bach's "Air" and Alexander Tcherepnin's "Trio, opus 59."
