The culture and traditions of African and Caribbean nations will be celebrated from 7 to 10 p.m. Friday [APRIL 20] during an African and Caribbean Fusion Night hosted by East Central University students who are from those countries.

Food, music, dances, storytelling, a fashion show and a silent auction will be included during the evening at the Trinity Baptist Church Hall, 123 N. Mississippi. Students also will have PowerPoint presentations about their native countries.

General admission is $10. Students and children will be admitted for $5, and children under age 5 will be admitted free. Proceeds from the evening will help a student undergoing medical treatment.

Students from about a dozen African countries and three Caribbean countries are enrolled at ECU this semester. The evening is sponsored by the International Student Connection club in collaboration with the African and Caribbean Student Association.
