East Central University Department of Mathematics and Computer Science hosted the annual Mathematical Association of America meeting for the Oklahoma Arkansas Section (MAA). More than 130 faculty and students from Arkansas and Oklahoma attended for talks, workshops and student competitions from March 30 to April 1.
Two ECU students won prizes for their research presentations. Jacob Mantooth, a Mathematics major, won second place with his talk on “Understanding Reinforcement Learning Through Games.” Brenden Latham, a Computer Science major, won third place for his talk on “Coalition Formation Under Uncertainty.”
