ADA, Okla. – East Central University is excited to announce Homecoming 2024, themed “Through the Decades,” set for Oct. 5.
“Everyone loves a parade, and this event allows us to come together as a community to celebrate all that is Ada and ECU,” said ECU President Wendell Godwin. “We are proud of the support from the community, alums, the Chickasaw Nation, City of Ada, and Ada Main Street. With thousands of guests coming to Ada for the homecoming festivities, we get to put our best foot forward. We want our former students, alums, and future students to see what Ada has to offer as a community. This is an amazing place to live, and ECU is a great place to get an education. We welcome everyone back to help us celebrate Homecoming 2024!”
This year’s festivities will celebrate ECU through the decades, from its founding in 1909 until today.
“This years Homecoming theme is in honor of all the students and alumni who have passed through ECU over the years,” said Director of Alumni Relations, Alyson Smotherman. “It’s a celebration of the university, its history and our wonderful community.”
Area businesses, organizations, youth groups and civic organizations are encouraged to participate on Saturday, Oct. 5 at noon. There is no entry fee, but registration is required.
Whether you wish to walk in the parade, feature a float, drive a vehicle or ride a horse, all are welcome and encouraged to participate.
