State Rep. Todd Thomsen of Ada will receive the Distinguished Service Award from the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education Thursday [DEC. 10] at a ceremony at East Central University.
Dr. Glen Johnson, chancellor of the Oklahoma State System of Higher Education, will present the award to Thomsen at 6 p.m. in the lobby of the Ataloa Theatre in the Hallie Brown Ford Fine Arts Center. The public is invited.
Thomsen was elected to the Oklahoma House of Representatives in 2006 and represents District 25, which includes Pontotoc, Pottawatomie, McLain and Hughes Counties.
A Republican, he is assistant majority floor leader and chair of the Higher Education and Career Tech Committee. He also serves on the Public Safety Committee, the International Relations and Tourism Committee and the Appropriations Sub-Committee on Education.
